A Message from the Director

Thank you for your interest in Presentation Childhood Learning Center (PCLC).  We are a ministry of Presentation of Mary Church and offer non-denominational early childhood education to all members of our community. The educational philosophy of PCLC is based on the many years of research and educational experiences that our veteran teaching staff brings to PCLC.  We are inspired by the Creative Curriculum Approach and embed academics into each and every learning opportunity and interest area. 

At PCLC, we believe that children learn through both play and relevant education opportunities. Our curriculum reflects a balance of education practices including organized activities and open-ended play opportunities.  Child-initiated and teacher-initiated early childhood education experiences intertwine each and every day here at PCLC.  We use research based curriculum practices like multi-sensory education (hands-on learning!), individualized instruction, and are guided by The Creative Curriculm daily.  Children are encouraged to experience many relevant education opportunities that include layers of embedded opportunities.  Essentially, our teachers know what to teach, how to teach it and why it is being taught.  These practices make it possible for your child to have an experience that is tailor-made just for them.   

Parents and not left out at PCLC.  They are an essential part of our community.  Opportunities that match your time and talent exhist inside and outside the classrooms.  We take a family-friendly approach to everything that we do.  We are not run by a CEO or under the umbrella of an organization that is bound by academic standards.  We are guided by the simply the best practices and inspired by the many families we have served over our 25 + years in early childhood education. 

We believe that children are like snowflakes.  Each one is unique yet they posses many qualities that are common with others. We aim to nurture children in the 5 core areas of social, emotional, cognitive (academic), physical, and spiritual growth as they pass through milestones associated with the core areas.
