Presentation Learning Center Children Give Back to the Community

September 2008:  This is the second summer PCLC students participated in a Bike Club.  Together they logged 1,632 miles which is about the distance from Bismark, ND to Chicago, IL and back!  As part of the bike clud, they raised money to buy bikes for less fortunate children in our community.  2 bikes and accessory packs were purchased.  Accessories included helmets, safety pads, water bottles, locks and training wheels.  Over the past 2-summers, the children have bikes 2,600 miles and donated 5 bikes.  Thanks again to all the children who participaed in the bike club!  Keep biking and we'll do even more next summer! Pictures above are Aaron S., Jack P., and Justin B. The bikes were given to the Alley Shoppe at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church.

Note from Pam: Thank you so much for the wonderful gift of bikes you ave to the Alley Shoppe.  We were so thrilled with such a generous gift.  We were amazed by how many miles you rode and how much money you raised.  You have done a great thing for some other kids who will love your generous gift.  Blessings to you, Pam Wiehe, Alley Shoppe director
November 2008: The School Age children filled Care Boxes for children and adults in our community. They wrapped them up and sent them to the Alley Shoppe.
December 2008: Children at PCLC collected hats, scarves, mittens and socks. PCLC families were so generous this Advent season.  Our winter items were donated to the Alley Shoppe.
February 2009: PCLC teams with One Warm Coat to help someone stay warm this winter.
Summer 2009:  The 3rd "Bike for Bikes" Program begins.  School age children collect monitary donations for the miles they bike.  In Septemebr their efforts will be tallied and new materials purchased for less fortunate children in our community.
