Kindergarten Plus (Optional Full Day)

Presentation of Mary School and Childhood Learning Center believe that parents know their child best.  Families enrolled at Presentation of Mary can choose to add the Kindergarten Plus program if it fits with their child's goals.

Flexibility is intentional and the Kindergarten Plus Program options can change throughout the school year as your child matures or the needs arise. Kindergarten Plus is an enrichment program that compliments Presentation of Mary's half-day kindergarten. It offers exceptional educational experiences from science to literature and beginning Spanish to cooking. We focus on multi-sensory learning, using phonemic awareness, alphabet knowledge and programs such as Handwriting Without Tears(TM).  Leaning through music and developmentally appropriate activities is also a key component of the daily curriculum. Little minds learn best when they are engaged in experiences that are relevant and interesting. Kindergarten Plus focuses on these types of academic opportunities.  If you have questions about the readiness of your child, please consult the kindergarten syllabus under Presentation of Mary's school link or call 651-777-5877 to arrange a consultation with one of our school professionals. Our program is taught by an experienced teacher with her degree in Early Childhood Education. 

Kindergarten children attend the morning class at Presentation of Mary School and may opt to have their day complimented by Kindergarten Plus from 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Additionally, The Learning Center offers before school care from 6:30 AM - 8:15 AM and after school care from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Additional exceptional care is also offered on School Release Days and in the summer. 
Typical daily schedule  (* Before-School Care, ** Kindergarten Plus, *** After-School Care)
*6:30 AM- 8:15 AM PCLC opens, breakfast is served; children are walked to their Kindergarten classroom by a PCLC Teacher.
8:15 AM  11:30 AM Students attend kindergarten.
**11:30 AM their regular school day ends. Children are met at their classroom by a PCLC teacher. Students have the option of changing out of their uniform and into play clothes.
**11:40 AM is lunchtime. Hot lunch through Presentation of Mary School is available for an additional fee. Recess follows lunch. Children enjoy the ADA compliant playground, large sandbox and dramatic play opportunities.
**12:30 PM children begin the Kindergarten Plus program. This program runs until 3 PM.
**3:00 PM children either leave for the day or contract for after-school care.
***3:00 PM  6:00 PM The after-school program hosts all sorts of activities
from computer time to cooking, airplane making to water color painting, and group games to another round of recess, just to name a few.  A healthy snack is also provided.  The center closes at 6:00 PM.
